Beyond Spots & Dots President and Founder Shares Career Advice at Robert Morris University’s 2019 Creativity at Work Conference
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Beyond Spots & Dots President and Founder, Melanie Querry, shared her personal experiences and endeavors in the advertising industry as well as professional advice to students and alumni eager to follow a similar path at Robert Morris University’s (RMU) 2019 Creativity at Work Conference on Thursday, March 28, 2019.
Querry was one of four experts on a panel dedicated to communicating information about working in the advertising and public relations fields. Querry shared her own unique career path, her perspective on working in the industry as a professional and a business owner and explained how rewarding it is to work in an atmosphere that requires channeling your creative capabilities to achieve success.
“A career in advertising and public relations is always exciting. Each client’s goals are unique, and it’s always challenging, exhilarating and deeply satisfying to help clients meet their objectives, whatever they may be,” said Melanie Querry, President and Founder of Beyond Spots & Dots. “Anybody who’s interested in creatively solving problems will make an impact in the industry, and my hope is that the advice that myself and other industry professionals gave will help students and alumni pursue a successful career in the field.”
In addition to speaking on the advertising and public relations panel, Querry also participated in the conference’s opening session during which she was one of three panelists who imparted best practices when interviewing for a professional position.
Querry was joined by fellow professionals in the field including Dana Antkowiak, Senior Manager of Marketing/Communications, Make-A-Wish® Greater PA & WV; Brad Cook, Group Account Director, Brunner; Natalie Maya Schlimmer, Senior Account Executive, Mindful Kreative; Suzanne Nadell, News Director of WPXI; and Larkin Werner, Partner/Creative Director of Wall-to-Wall Studios.
The 2019 Creativity at Work Conference was held to give all RMU students and alumni an opportunity to learn about career options in the Communication, English and Media Arts fields. The conference also provided opportunities for students to network with professionals in a variety of fields and gain advice about finding internships and full-time jobs.
This follows a successful speaking engagement Querry took part in at Chatham University earlier in March.
